Funeral Service: Friday, January 29, 2010 1:00 PM St. Joachim Catholic Church, Madera, CA Visitation: Thursday, January 28, 2010 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Jay Chapel, Madera, CA Interment: Calvary Cemetery, Madera, CA BiographyAge 80, a native Madera, CA and a resident of Fresno, CA for 37 years, passed away Thursday, January 21, 2010 at a Fresno hospital. He worked in agriculture most of his life and was a retired grounds keeper at Belmont Memorial Park for 6 years. Alex attended local schools and was a member of St. Joachim Catholic Church in Madera. He was a charter member of the California Yaqui Assn. Alex was a loving father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He will always be remembered for his kind and generous spirit.Alex was preceded in death by his wife Emily Rios and his sons Angelo and Reggio Rios. He is survived by his sons Les Rios and his wife Carolyn of Fresno, CA and David Rios and his wife Karen of Sanger, CA. Alex is the brother to Joe Rios and his wife Evelyn of Madera, CA; Domingo Rios and his wife Marylou of Fresno, CA; Lucy Mariscal of Madera, CA; Anselma Andrade of Fresno, CA; Socorro Owens and her husband Fred of Chowchilla, CA & Gloria Robinson of Texas. He was the grandfather of 11 and great grandfather 15. He also had numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Thursday, January 28, 2010 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Jay Chapel in Madera. A Vigil service will be Thursday, January 28, 2010 at 7:00 pm at Jay Chapel in Madera. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, January 29, 2010 at 1:00 pm at St. Joachim Catholic Church in Madera. Interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery in Madera. |
