Born in The Dalles, Oregon, Ruth moved to the Central Valley as a youth residing in Fresno for a time before settling in Madera. Ruth had a long and satisfying career in retail sales. She was employed for 20 years at the former O'Grady's Dress Shop, prior to that at Elliott's Jewelers, the Roscoe's Variety Store, and the historic Aragon Hotel which were all part of what was a thriving downtown Madera in earlier years. Ruth attended the 4th Street Church of God.She was preceded in death by her husband Roy Moore in 1994, and in recent years had been a resident of Westgate Manor. Ruth is survived by her children, son, Edwin "Henry" Moore of Snelling, Ca, by a daughter JoAnn Hunter and her husband Steve of Madera and by her brother Edwin Bradley of the Falls, Oregon. She is the beloved grandmother of 6 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be on Thursday, January 28, 2010 from 2 to 8 PM at Jay Chapel. A graveside service will be on Friday, January 29, 2010 at 3 PM at Belmont Memorial Park in Fresno. |
