Biography
Albert Prosperi, born September 16, 1922 passed away February 6, 2010. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother. Albert, the oldest son of Italian immigrants Cesare and Ada Prosperi, was 87 years old. At an early age, Albert was taught a strong work ethic which included driving a tractor by the age of 12 and helping his father run the family ranches. Albert took what he had learned at an early age and developed his own successful farming operation. Albert met Norma Gotelli through family gatherings and later married her on January 6, 1946. Norma was his true companion in life as they loved to travel the world together and enjoyed playing golf together at different country clubs while on their many road trips. Albert and Norma were also loyal Fresno State Bulldog fans and traveled with the football team for many years. Albert enjoyed having coffee every morning at Madera Valley Inn with all of his "retired" friends.
Albert is preceded in death by his infant sister Evelina, his brother Victor and brother-in-law Cuerino Gotelli and Paul Toschi.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 64 years Norma, his three children, Lynda Oberti and her husband Stan, his son Bill Prosperi and his wife Dana, his son Dan Prosperi and his wife Nancy. He also leaves behind his brother Bobby and his wife Lona, his sister Angie Gotelli, his sisters-in-law Dorothy Prosperi and Mary Toschi.
Nono will truly be missed by his grandchildren Melissa Spencer and her husband Todd, Eric Oberti and his wife Michele, Brooke Trevino and her husband Anthony, Sam Prosperi and his wife Leah and Margo Prosperi and fiancé Paul Basila. In addition Albert leaves behind seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Dr. Allan Nassar, Dr. Javaid, Dr. Todd Spencer, and the staff at Madera Community Hospital for taking care of Albert.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 11, 2010, 1:00 PM at Jay Chapel, Madera, CA
Private Interment at Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be sent to the Donor's Favorite Charity.
