Alvis, age 75, passed away in Madera, California on Monday July 26, 2010 following a period of declining health, he was currently a resident at the County Villa Convalescent and rehabilitation Center in Madera. John was born on April 6, 1935 to John Alvis and Tina Holder in Delaplaine, Arkansas. He was one of five children born to John and Tina. John moved to Madera, California in 1959. He was a former employee of the former Sherman Thomas Farming operation and later was a Security Guard for a Security firm based in Fresno, California for 25 years.John, in addition to his parents and his siblings was preceded in death by a son Allen Alvis. He is survived by a son Darrell Alvis of Arkansas, by two grandsons, and by 6 nephews and 5 nieces including Jim Alvis of Madera and Pat Bess of Chowchilla, Ca. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 29, 2010 at 11:30 AM in the Arbor Vitae Cemetery in Madera, California. |
