Biography


Betty L. Cosyns


Mrs. Betty L. Cosyns passed away on Monday, March 28, 2005 at the age of 76. She was a native of Altus, OK and a resident of Madera since 1963. Betty was a member of the Sunset Avenue Church of Christ and attended St. Joachim Catholic Church. Betty, a homemaker also worked as a furniture salesperson and interior decorator for 30 years. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the V.F.W. Post #1981 in Madera and the Madera County Farm Bureau. Betty also enjoyed cooking and sewing.

She was preceded in death by her son Charles Drury and her parents Pete and Winnie Billington.

She is survived by her husband Albert Cosyns of Madera, with whom she celebrated 25 years of marriage on February 8th of this year. Betty’s children include Brant and his wife Kathy Drury of Chickasha, OK, Terry and his wife Diane Drury of Blair, OK., Nyeeta and her husband Daryl Smith of Blair, OK., Betty’s step children include Allen Cosyns with his companion Susan Guglielmana and Rick and his wife Lynne Cosyns all of Madera, Linda and her husband Carlos Reynoso of Fresno, CA. She is the sister of Grady and his wife Janet Billington of Madera, Jim and his wife June Billington of Altus, OK and Pat and her husband Wendell Autrey of Katy, TX. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2005 from 2:00-8:00 PM at Jay Chapel in Madera. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 1, 2005 at 1:00 PM at Jay Chapel. Betty will be laid to rest at the Altus Cemetery in Altus, OK.
