Obituary of Glenn Igo
Glen Edgar Igo, 78, of Chowchilla, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2017 with his wife of 57 years, Carol, by his side.
Glen was born in Hennessey, Oklahoma on December 24, 1938. He married Carolyn "Carol" Sue Bryant on Valentine's Day, February 14, 1959, in Chowchilla, California. Glen lived a life devoted to his family and serving his country and community; serving over 22 years in the U.S. Navy, retiring as Chief Petty Officer, working with both Grumman Aerospace and Dynalectron, and serving Chowchilla on the City Council and as Mayor.
All those who knew Glen were drawn in by his love for automobiles; from motorcycles, to classic cars, to traveling in their RV, restoring vehicles to their former glory, and winning countless awards at car shows, Glen and Carol pursued their passions throughout their lives together.
Glen is survived by his wife Carol, son Glen Igo Jr., daughter Terry and her husband Mike Wood, son Michael Igo, brother Walter Igo, sister Kathy and her husband Maurice Walsh, grandchildren Nathan Igo, Shannon and her husband Connor Schreiner, Michael Wood Jr., and Christopher Igo.
At Glen's request before his passing, there will be no formal services held in his honor. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made, whether in time, services, or money, to a worthy cause in Glen's memory.
