Dora Pierotti, 100 years old, passed away April 14, 2024. Dora was born Dora Boria to Italian Immigrants Costantino & Rita Boria on October 6, 1923. She grew up attending the Old Howard Elementary School and then graduated from Madera High School, class of 1941.
When she graduated she worked for Mission Bell Winery by putting labels on bottles and at times, corking the bottles. June 6, 1943 she married Angelo Pierotti. The Maid of Honor was her sister Delma Boria and the Best Man was Albert Prosperi. They spent their honeymoon in San Francisco. Dora and Angelo purchased twenty acres of vineyard by Ripperdan School in Madera. There they raised a family, Barbara who married Rick Beckett and Carol who married Thomas Petrucci. In 1970 Dora and Angelo sold the ranch and moved to town. Dora was a Ripperdan 4-H Community Leader and project leader, she was active in Ripperdan Parent Club, and Migrant Aid for Madera Unified for 25 years. During these years Dora Attended Fresno City College and received her AA degree. After Retirement Dora was an active member of the Italian Women’s Auxiliary, Trinity Lutheran Church Quilt Group, Bridge Club, and recently a member of the United Methodist Church.
Dora has five grandchildren and many, many great-grandchildren. She is proceeded in death by her parents, Costantino and Rita Boria, her husband Angelo Pierotti, her brother Dario Boria, and her sister Delma Irwin.
Graveside services will be April 30, 2024, at Arbor Vitae Cemetery at 10:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the United Methodist Church in Madera.
